Would you like to work at a Music Festival?

This is an exciting chance for 10 young people aged 16-26 with and without a learning disability to get free professional training as Festival Stewards.

If you finish the course you will be fully trained and could even get paid work at outdoor festivals and other live events.

The course is in 3 parts and you must finish all 3 parts.

The course is on

Saturday 6 March at the Croydon Clocktower from 10am-5pm (Lunch will be provided)

Saturday 31 July at Croydon Summer Festival in Lloyd Park from 10am-5pm

Sunday 1 August at Croydon Summer Festival in Lloyd Park from 10am-5pm

If you would like to book a place, you must send an email to info@artsambassadors.co.uk or call 020 8253 1034. And say why you would like a place on the course by Tuesday 2nd March at 6pm.

2012 Open Weekend

Be part of Open Weekend 2010 and celebrate 2 years to go until the Olympic and Paralympic Games!

London 2012 is inviting organisations that do arts to take part in the Open Weekend on 23-25 July.

To take part your organisation must set a challenge for anyone to be able to do.

You could ask people to make a piece of art in 24 hours, organise a treasure hunt or stage a large aerobics session.

Registration closes at 12pm on 16 July 2010.

Cinema Card

Did you know that if you go to the cinema a lot, you can buy a card that lets your support worker get in for free.

The Cinema Exhibitors' Association Card is a national card that says you are entitled to 1 free ticket for a person going to the cinema with you.

The card costs £5.50 and lasts for 1 year.

To apply for the card, you will need to receive a disability living allowance or attendance allowance, or be a registered blind person.

If your local cinema accepts the card, you can ask them for an application form. Or you can download an application form to print out and fill in.

Learning to tell

Learning to tell is a guide to teaching inclusive storytelling, published by the British Institute of Learning Disabilities (BILD).

It tells you how to run a storytelling programme, including warm-up exercises, skills training, games and example stories.

Learning to tell wants to help people with communication and language difficulties to develop storytelling skills.

Learning to tell costs £30.

Young Brits at Art 2010

The Equality and Human Rights Commision want you to enter Young Brits at Art competition.

This year's competition is about what the world would look like if we lived without prejudice.

To enter you need to be 11-19 years old and live in England, Scotland or Wales.

You can submit any kind of artwork, including paintings, drawings, photography, videos, animation and sound. Click here for the full entry rules

The deadline for submission is Wednesday 24 March 2010.

You also have to tell them what inspired you and how you feel about your artwork.

You can send art you did by yourself or as part of a group (but you can only enter once).
