Vote for In the Frame

Our In the Frame group, sponsored by Nokia, has been shortlisted for a DaDaAward 2008 (run by North West Disability Arts Forum), for best emerging community arts group. Voting is open until 5pm on Monday 1 December 2008. The Access to Heritage group (a project run by Liverpool Mencap) are also up for the Community Group Award. Vote now at www.nwdaf.co.uk.

The In the Frame group has just run an art exhibition at Tate Liverpool, sponsored by the Liverpool Culture Company as part of Liverpool 08. It was called In My Liverpool Home. The In the Frame group of 10 artists with a learning disability have also just launched a Mencap arts booklet called The Art Lovers' Guide, sponsored by Nokia.

CALL FOR ENTRIES - 21st Century Watercolour Open Competition

The Royal Watercolour Society invites artists to submit works to the 2009 competition.

Unlike other painting competitions, 21st Century Watercolour identifies and supports artists of any age and artwork can be any size or subject matter.

All works produced in water based mediums - watercolour, acrylic and gouache are accepted.

Successful entries will be exhibited at Bankside Gallery, London, from 20 February to 15 March 2009.

Important information

* Artists are invited to submit up to 3 framed and glazed water-based paintings on paper.

* Entry is £10 per work or free to full time students.

* Entry form deadline is Wednesday 14th January 2009.

Mobi Movies Competition

As part of the Dance for Camera Fesitval 2008, South East Dance wants you to make a 1 minute dance film on your mobile phone, camcorder or digital camera.

The best submitted films will be grouped together and screened on youtube and at the Dance for Camera Festival 2008.

And you could win a iPod.

To enter upload your 1 minute video to youtube and use the Send Video tool to send the link to mailsoutheastdance@googlemail.com

Include your name, age, where you live, why you made the film and a contact email address.

Entry is free

Can you play an instrument (like the drums or guitar) or sing?

If so, then Croydon Clocktower wants to hear from you! They are helping a group of local adults with learning disabilities form a rock band.

DASh Film and Disability Festival 2009

This will be the 5th year that DASh has collaborated with Borderlines Film Festival to produce a Film and Disability event. It is also the second longest running disability film festival in the UK.

The event consists of Disability related films, which either have Disabled actors or are made by a Disabled Film maker.

DASh are now seeking submissions from Disabled Film makers and groups of Disabled People for the 2009 film festival which will be held in Hereford and Ludlow in March 2009.

Films must be either captioned or subtitled.

Submissions by Monday 1st December 2008.

'Call for Artists' - Holton Lee

Holton Lee is calling for disabled visual artists to submit work that reflects and/or relates to Disability Arts for their 3rd Annual Disability Arts Open.

Deadline for submission 1st December 08

Two prizes up to £1,000 are available. There will be a Judges choice award and a Peoples Choice award.

A panel of judges will select a shortlist of pieces to be part of the exhibition. The exhibition will be in the Gallery at Faith House 17th January - 8th March 09.
