In the Moment DVD
In the Moment is a Mencap DVD about the arts and working with people with profound and multiple learning disabilities (or PMLD).
It helps break down some barriers and inspires people to deliver more arts activities in this area.
The 4 companies featured on the DVD, who specialise in this area, are:
Project Art Works - an artist-led organisation creating opportunities for young people and adults who have complex needs to communicate and express themselves through art.
Soundabout - helps people who have complex disabilities develop their ability to communicate and interact with the world around them through music and sound.
Openstorytellers (The Unlimited Company) - provides training for professionals and families in how to tell both traditional and personal stories with children and adults who have severe communication disabilities.
Oily Cart - creates theatre for young people with complex disabilities. By transforming everyday environments into colourful, tactile 'wonderlands' we invite our audience to join us in a world of the imagination.
